Kenyan by all means
Wednesday the 2nd 2007f May 2007 at 12 :32 : 51 PM

Well today i encountered a situation at Westlands. Those who have travelled to Kenya know it is an upmarket shopping area.I was heading to the bus stop when a tourist read (Caucasian) wanted to take a taxi to the city center. He approached the taxi driver saying "am not mzungu (white skinned, which of course he is) i am a Kikuyu(a local dialect) so please charge me a fair price" I move ahead but i am bursting with laughter on how far tourists will go to ensure they are not over-charged. I think it pays to walk around with a local person who will negotiate on your behalf, but of course you will also have to pay him for this job. It is thus a catch 22 situation. so weigh your options and then decided if you are going to do it by yourself or use the services of an travelgent but remember cheap can be expensive. This made my day Felista
