Many people are always looking for discounted travel options be it from hotels, air lines or travel agents. The truth is most of these people are last minute bookers and will this not enjoy the benefit of time. Why do i say this most airlines, hotels,lodges have high season and low season. During the low season price will fall fairly low sometimes almost half price. e.g. most people do not like to travel on Christmas or day book but did you know that on this day most airlines will give you a huge discount since they have very few passengers. However in hotels this is a time when prices are at the highest. In Kenya the low seasons for hotels and lodges April an May it is also the rainy season also. hotels and lodges will offer discounts. March, September and November are also fairly low season for hotels, lodges and airlines. These are dry months and good for travel. June is a not so crowded in hotels and lodges but it is a peak season for for airlines and should have booked months in advance to travel in June. The months of July August, October, December, January and February are fairly dry months in Eastern Africa this is peak season for hotels and lodges since also the Kenyan residents enjoy a couple of holiday breaks and are competing for the same bed space as tourists.

My advice is plan a year in advance for your holiday to enjoy considerable discounts as you will have time to book during the off-peak seasons. You will also have ample time to plan time off during work and school if there are children.
