LOCATION
Ngama Hills Tented Camp is a short drive after you enter the Maasai Mara National Reserve at the main Gate at Sekenani. The Camp is on the Eastern edge of the Reserve at the base of the Ngama Hills from which it derives its name.
The luxurious camp is approximately 220 kilometers from Nairobi, which takes about 4 hours to drive. From the Capital City, the flight takes about 45 minutes and an onward transfer from Keekorok airstrip to the Camp takes about 20 minutes.
The location of the Camp offers the guests an opportunity to view a wide range of wild animals including the elephants, cheetahs, leopards, lions, giraffes, wildebeests and zebras among many others.
ACCOMODATION
Each of the ten new and spacious tents has a modern ensuite bathroom, hot and cold showers, writing desk and an elevated private balcony for spectacular views of the sunsets and the hills, which have abundant wildlife. The tents have got two double beds each, personal closets, flush toilets and sockets for battery charging for cameras.
ECOTOURISM
The camp is the newest and most stunning champion of Eco-tourism in the Maasai Mara and in Kenya, with solar and wind power in great use. All our biodegradable waste mulched for compost manure for use in our vegetable garden and an ongoing tree-planting project.
The camp enjoys a cordial relationship with our close partners the local Maasai community form that most of our staff come from. We endeavour to prioritise our social and environmental responsibility in all our areas of operation.
MAIN AREAS
Delicious meals are served in the spacious dining room, which overlooks the Ngama Hills, or at a special site chosen by the camp. The terrace bar near the fireplace offers the guests an opportunity to enjoy the evening under the stars. Our camp Naturalist cum Culturalist will deliver slideshows on wildlife and the Maasai culture in the evenings. The Camp has plans for a large and natural swimming pool with water harvested from the springs.
